FAQs

Do you ship fish?

No, currently we do not ship fish. However, shipping can be arranged for corals, plants, and reptiles.

How long can fish stay in a bag?

If you let us know that you have a drive, or are not planning on going straight home, we have the ability to package your fish for 48hrs of transport.

How do I acclimate my fish?

For fresh water fish shrimp and inverts, a simple 15min float acclimation is recommended. Do not drip acclimate your animals unless you are aware of a drastic pH change.

For saltwater fish, a 15min float acclimation is recommended. Do NOT drip acclimate your fish.

For saltwater invertebrates, a 30min to 1hr drip acclimation is recommended to allow your animals to adjust properly to salinity.

For corals, very limited acclimation is necessary unless you are aware of a major parameter change. For example, salinity off by more that 3ppt, pH off by more than .2, or a temp difference of more than 5 degrees F.

What do I do if there is aggression between my newly purchased fish and my existing fish?

Depending on severity, if it is non-stop bullying you will need to separate the animals immediately. The motto of “once a bully, always a bully” holds true most of the time and removing the aggressor is usually the best course of action. However by changing the decor in the tank, adding multiple fish at a time, or putting the bully in timeout while the other fish become adjusted can be an effective way to mitigate aggression.
